Social Development:  Goal is to help children express themselves through play and school activities                
  • Separation from parents for transition to school

Language Development:  Goal is to help children express thoughts and feelings and to verbalize their needs
  • Circle Time ... a daily start to the day which includes:
                 * Prayers, greetings, calendar, weather
                 * Fingerplays

                 * Storytime

Motor Development:  Goal is to provide activities for whole-body motions and involvement that facilitates large                    muscle development
  • Gym time ... Children have a set gym time daily
  • Cooperative play
  • Coordination Skills and Exercise

  • Ball/Bean Bag games
  • Balance Beam
  • Trampoline

Creative Development:  Goal is to provide a variety of activities to give the children an opportunity to express themselves
  • Daily Art Projects ... a variety of media are used:
                 *  Painting with brushes, sponges, and fingers
                 *  Coloring
                 *  Playdough
                 *  Cutting
  • Water/sand play
  • Music and dancing
  • Dramatic play

Technology Integration:  Goal is to expand, enrich, implement and individualize the overall curriculum
  • Interactive lessons on the Smartboard
  • Individual & group educational lessons on iPad mini

Conceptual Development:  Goal is to provide learning activities including fine motor & organizational experiences
  • Color of the Month
  • Coloring and tracing skills
  • Use of scissors
  • Stringing beads
  • Following a daily routine
  • Matching games
  • Sorting toys

Work Habits:    Goal is to work and play independently & cooperatively and to learn to stay on task
  • Cleaning up

Religious Development:  Goal is to develop a positive self image and show respect for God's creation
  • Daily prayers
  • Our mission: "roots to grow ... wings to fly ... with Jesus in our hearts" is alive daily

And More.......
  • Each week the children are involved in enrichment activities.  They visit our school library for a fun, hands-on storytime and "check out" a book.
  • Each month you will receive a snack calendar and a newsletter that will keep you informed of all classroom dates and happenings.
  • There will be a designated COLOR of the month and we will focus on that particular color in all activities on a specified day of the month.
  • Each month we will have  a SHARE day to enhance language development.
  • We have many special programs during the year:  4 class parties, Grandparents Day, Thanksgiving Celebration, Christmas Show, Donuts for Dad, PJ Party, Trike-a-Thon, Mother's Day Tea, Sweetheart Dance, Art Show, Field Trips and Carnival Day.


      Our program is child-centered!  Each child is special and important and our goal is to let them know just that!
